This foreigner was arrested by Tangerang, Banten immigration, suspected of causing trouble at the hotel where he was staying, Wednesday (20/12).

“We ask the legal authorities to prosecute these foreigners,” said Nurhayati (34), a resident of Tangerang.

According to information from the Tangerang immigration team, as many as 27 Sri Lankan citizens were arrested by immigration officers at apartments in Tangerang Regency, Banten.

Tangerang Immigration officers together with members of the South Tangerang Police Intelligence and Security Unit then visited the location on December 12. During surveillance, 27 foreigners were found in different apartment units.

“When the officers met, the foreign nationals were there and carrying out activities in the unit they lived in,” said Head of the Tangerang Immigration Office, Rakha Sukma Purnama in a written statement, Tuesday (19/12).

Officers also checked the immigration documents of dozens of Sri Lankan citizens.

As a result, the 27 Sri Lankan citizens were suspected of committing immigration violations.

“So the officers secured him at the Class I Non TPI Tangerang Immigration Office for further inspection,” said Rakha, quoted by CNN Indonesia From the results of the examination, 15 people were suspected of violating Article 78 paragraph (2) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

They were given sanctions of deportation and detention.
