Founded in the 1500s, the Sunan Giri Mosque in Gresik finally has a certificate which was handed over directly by Minister AHY.

The administrators of the Ainul Yaqin Sunan Giri Mosque in Gresik, East Java, can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Founded in the 1,500s, this mosque finally has a land certificate.

The handover was carried out directly by the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) after Friday prayers (05/07/2024).

“Thank God for this mosque which has been established since the 1,500s, today there is a certificate.

“So that the status is clear, the legality is formal from the state, from the government,” said Minister AHY in his speech after handing over the certificate.

In front of the congregation who filled the mosque, Minister AHY also handed over three other waqf land certificates.

The certificate consists of a certificate from the Sunan Giri Kebomas Gresik Tomb Foundation which is intended for social and religious activities.

Meanwhile, the other two certificates are the Darul Insan Gresik Islamic Boarding School Foundation certificate which is intended for religious schools and the Baitur Rahman Musala certificate.

Minister AHY hopes that, apart from providing legal certainty, the issuance of the certificate can bring even more blessings and glory to the mosque which is glorified by the people of Gresik Regency.

“Including of course the calmer it is, the more comfortable the congregation who come from all over Indonesia to worship at this mosque,” continued the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN.
