Handing over Electronic Waqf Land Certificate, Minister AHY: Government’s Spirit of Modernizing Land Services.

Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) handed over four waqf land certificates at the Ainul Yaqin Sunan Giri Grand Mosque, Gresik Regency on Friday (05/07/2024).

The waqf land certificate handed over this time is no longer an analog certificate but in the form of an Electronic Land Certificate.

“Earlier what we handed over was an Electronic Land Certificate.

So, this is part of the government’s spirit and the President really emphasized that we continue to pursue digital transformation in line with efforts to modernize government.

“Including governance management in the land and spatial planning sectors,” said Minister AHY in a doorstop with media crew after handing over the waqf land certificate.

According to Minister AHY, Electronic Land Certificates make it easier for the public to maintain ownership of proof of land rights.

Therefore, he hopes that more Land Offices (Kantah) will implement the Electronic Land Certificate service.

“We hope that more Kantah can serve the community, especially electronic land certificate services.

Then it will make things easier for (the community, ed.).

“What is certain is that it is faster, more transparent, more accountable, and there is no longer any need for processing using intermediaries, it can be done directly,” continued Minister AHY.

Electronic Land Certificates will also simplify the way of checking land plots owned by the community.

“If you already have an Electronic Land Certificate, you can check it at any time, using your cellphone. It’s very simple, there is a barcode and it is immediately clear who the owner is, the area, where the map is, and so on.

“Hopefully we can continue to develop this,” said Minister AHY. Even though it makes things easier for the public.

Minister AHY realizes that by using a digital system there are vulnerabilities, especially from the threat of cyber crime.

“Therefore, we have to ensure that the security system that the Ministry of ATR/BPN has, including in matters of Electronic Land Certificates.

Can be maintained in the midst of a situation where we know that recently there have been many threats from cyber crime and hacking.

“So we hope that the ATR/BPN Ministry, including other state institutions, will continue to strengthen this (electronic, ed) system,” concluded Minister AHY.

For your information, the four waqf land certificates issued this time are intended for the Sunan Giri Kebomas Gresik Mosque Foundation.

Ainul Yaqin Sunan Giri Mosque Darul Insan Gresik Islamic Boarding School Foundation and Baitur Rahman Musala.

Also present on this occasion were a number of Middle and Primary High Leadership Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN.
