Gubernatorial election campaign, offered sweet promises in the form of prospering the people.

Jakarta, Posinternasional.com

Academician from Manado State University (UNM), North Sulawesi (Sulu), Prof. DR OC Kaligis stated that Anies Baswedan during the 2017-2022 DKI Jakarta.

Gubernatorial election campaign, offered sweet promises in the form of prospering the people, overcoming floods and providing zero percent house down payments but without realization .

“In reality, after winning against Basuki Tjahaya Purnama (Ahok), the promise was not implemented.

Instead a plan emerged that was never campaigned for, namely the Formula E project,” said Prof OC Kaligis in Jakarta, Monday (22/7/2024).

Kaligis said that during the campaign there were no promises about Formula E and instead building the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) stadium which drained funds from the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

However, after conducting a comparative study, it turned out that the Formula E program in Jakarta was more expensive than similar formulas in New York, Montreal, Canada, and Rome, Italy, which waived commitment fees.

In fact, the Formula E project costing IDR 2.3 trillion was not discussed at all with the local DPRD as the governor’s partner, so that the DPRD was anxious about advancing the right of interpellation.

According to him, the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) conducted a transaction audit at that time and found that the results of transactions carried out by Anies regarding the Formula E project amounted to 53 thousand pounds sterling or the equivalent of Rp. 983.31 billion.

“What is certain is that the Formula E project benefits other parties, using state money.

So the question arises as to why the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is not continuing the investigation into Anies Baswedan’s corruption,” said the law professor who is also a lawyer.

He added that the KPK’s investigation into Anies regarding Formula E only lasted 11 hours, and that was only one inspection, after which the KPK closed the case quietly.

When elected, Anies was adamant about not giving a building construction permit (IMB) to the developer of the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 development.

Anies also tried to prevent reclamation in the PIK 2 project, but in the end construction of the Java Sea backfill continued.

Likewise, when floods hit Jakarta, Anies easily explained to residents the flood theory that rain falls from the sky, then enters the ground and can eventually be overcome.

The academic questioned that as a resident of Jakarta, he also had the right to know the follow-up to the Formula E case, whether the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) dared to carry out an investigation to eradicate corruption without any selective cutting efforts.
