A suspected terrorist was arrested in Batu City, East Java on July 31, 2024 at 19.15 WIB.

The arrest was made by the Special Detachment Team (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Polri.

The suspected terrorist is a 19-year-old student with the initials HOK.

According to police investigations, HOK is suspected of being a sympathizer of the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) organization.

HOK was planning to carry out a suicide bombing.

“Densus 88 is still investigating the possibility of links to other ISIS support networks,” said the Spokesperson for Densus 88 Anti-terror Mabes Polri, Kombes Aswin Siregar.

According to him, this is very important as a foundation for the way of thinking of the nation’s generation to love the Indonesian homeland today and in the future.

“The values ​​contained in Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution are doctrines for the sons and daughters of the nation to love the homeland throughout their lives.

Whatever the situation and conditions that influence it,” said Maksis Sakhabi to the media.

Currently, the learning method in schools is undergoing a structural change, namely implementing an independent learning pattern.

This means providing the widest possible space for students to seek, explore and apply knowledge independently.

However, in the process the role of teachers remains very important in their guidance and direction.

“Yes, teachers are still important at any time, they cannot be replaced by teaching modules, the internet, Google and so on,” he continued.

“Don’t let there be a term where students run faster than their teachers, meaning that teachers don’t know what their students are observing and contemplating,” he added.

The incident of the arrest of a suspected terrorist involving a 19-year-old student is a threat to the nation’s generation.

Because at that golden age, the nation’s generation should think about how to participate in realizing an intelligent and dignified nation among Indonesian students.

The sons and daughters of Indonesian students should think about creating something useful for the nation and state in the future, namely studying diligently and seriously.

It is known from the results of the investigation that the Densus 88 HOK Team planned to carry out suicide bombings at two places of worship using TAPT (Triaceton Triperoxide) explosives.

Related to the arrest of the student, the Densus team also arrested other parties, namely HOK’s parents.

They are still suspected terrorists. According to statements from residents where the suspected terrorists live, they are from Jakarta and have only lived in Batu City, East Java, for one year.
