Improve Graduate Quality, Ministry of ATR/BPN Together with Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives Encourage STPN to Transform into a Polytechnic, Sunday (01/09).
The National Land College (STPN) under the auspices of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is encouraged to transform into a polytechnic.
This was conveyed by the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) when opening the National Symposium of the Agrarian Higher Education Alumni Family (KAPTI-Agraria) online on Friday (08/30/2024).
“I encourage STPN to continue to develop creativity and innovation in order to improve the quality of graduates while producing multiplier effects for the Ministry of ATR/BPN.
In order to accelerate various strategic programs in the fields of land and spatial planning.
To realize this, STPN must immediately transform,” said Minister AHY.
With its status as a polytechnic, Minister AHY assessed that STPN would be able to offer more applicable education programs and focus on developing technical and vocational skills.
“To welcome the Golden Indonesia in 2045, STPN has an important role in realizing the quality of graduates who have intellectual, professional, national insight, and character competencies,” he said.
Present in person at the National Symposium held at STPN Yogyakarta, Sleman Regency, was Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Junimart Girsang.
He advised the Ministry of ATR/BPN and KAPTI-Agraria to build coordination with related ministries/institutions.
Thus, it is hoped that STPN graduates in the future can become Civil Servants (PNS), especially in the Ministry of ATR/BPN itself.
“Build coordination, communication with related ministries and institutions, especially the Ministry of Education and Culture.
If we can do this, then STPN will become a favorite school in this country.
And alumni from here will be ready to use, especially for surveyors.
Our hope for the future is that all STPN graduates will automatically become CPNS and within two years at the latest will be appointed as PNS,” said Junimart Girsang.
The General Chairperson of KAPTI-Agraria, Andi Tenri Abeng on this occasion thanked all parties who have supported the process of transforming STPN into a polytechnic.
“We are very concerned with the existence of STPN so that it is sustainable and we can get back the civil service recruitment path at STPN,” he said.
The National Symposium raised the theme “KAPTI-Agraria Synergy in Supporting the Transformation of STPN into an Agrarian Polytechnic STPN and Civil Service Recruitment Path”.
