This training provides certainty to the community regarding land rights.

The first Land and Spatial Planning Judge Certification Training held in collaboration with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and the Supreme Court, officially closed on Wednesday (16/10/2024).

Of the 80 General and State Administrative Court Judges who attended the training, 78 judges passed. The Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Suyus Windayana, said that this training was the initial step to address land and spatial planning issues from upstream to downstream.

“This is the initial step so that land conflicts are further minimized, also spatial planning and how we control it, then, the issue of land mafia and also digital transformation.

From the upstream side, the Ministry of ATR/BPN was tasked with resolving several matters, on the downstream side we collaborated with the Supreme Court,” explained Suyus Windayana after closing the training which took place at the PPSDM Hall of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Bogor Regency.

This Certification Training has been running from September 27-October 16, 2024.

Participants have completed 138 stages of training and their success has been measured based on four assessment aspects, namely attendance/discipline; activeness, quizzes and summative evaluations; and case study practice and oral exams.

According to Suyus Windayana, this Certification Training is very important for law enforcement, especially those related to land in Indonesia.

“This training provides certainty to the community regarding land rights, regarding the law and also justice for the community,” said Suyus Windayana.

With the training, it is hoped that every judge will have a uniform understanding regarding land and spatial planning in court decisions.

“Judges already have experience, a fairly good background regarding law. It remains to be seen how to strengthen it in the community,” concluded the Secretary General of the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

In line with this, the Head of the Center for Technical Education and Training for the Supreme Court, Syamsul Arief, hopes that this training will produce judges who have broader knowledge in handling land issues.

That way, future judges’ decisions will not add to the problem but will truly be a reference for resolving land issues.

“We hope that after participating in the Land and Spatial Planning Certification Training, judges will have a vision that is on the side of justice, land is truly a source of life, and of course a source of justice for people in the regions,” said Syamsul Arief.

Head of PPSDM Ministry of ATR/BPN, Einstein Al Makarima Mohammad, in his report said that the training was carried out using the blended learning method or independently and face-to-face.

The learning materials were provided by the Middle and Primary High Leadership Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN and a number of practitioners.

Based on the assessment results, 10 participants with the best scores during the training were also selected.

Present at the closing of the training were a number of Primary High Leadership Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN; Structural and Functional Officials of PPSDM Ministry of ATR/BPN.

Present to accompany the Secretary General of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, the ranks of the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of ATR/BPN.
