The Tangerang Regency Government is again holding the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) which provides basic necessities at affordable prices for the community.

The event was opened directly by the Acting Regent of Tangerang, Andi Ony in the yard of the Balaraja District Office, Tuesday (11/5/24).

On the sidelines of the event, Acting Andi Ony said that the Cheap Food Movement program is a form of the Tangerang Regency Government’s concern for the needs of the community, especially in facing the current economic situation.

“We are present through the Cheap Food Movement as real evidence of the government’s presence to ease the burden on the community.

Hopefully this program can meet the community’s daily basic needs at a more affordable price,” said Acting Andi Ony.

He continued, this GPM market operation is in the form of basic food packages sold at a subsidized price of IDR 56,600 per package containing, among others: 2 liters of vegetable oil, 2 kg of rice, 2 kg of flour, and 2 kg of granulated sugar.

The price of this package actually reaches IDR. 124,800, but with a subsidy of Rp. 68,200 from the Tangerang Regency Government, the community can get it at a more affordable price.

“We provide 1,000 coupons that have been distributed to the Balaraja community.

This Cheap Food Movement activity is expected to help the Tangerang Regency community, especially in Balaraja District, in getting basic necessities at a lighter price,” he said.

According to him, the Tangerang Regency Government will continue to hold this GPM Program in the sub-districts which are expected to ease the economic burden on the community.

“We will continue to hold this Cheap Food Program in the sub-districts. A minimum of 1,000 basic food coupons are provided for the community,” he explained.
