Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid wants to optimize the role of the Land Bank Agency in making President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita a success.
This was stated when he met with the media crew at the Prona Hall of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Jakarta, 1/12/2024).
“What is clear is that we will use the Land Bank for at least four things. First, to support food self-sufficiency, second, for energy self-sufficiency.
Third, to support the downstream program, fourth, to support low-income housing,” said Nusron Wahid in a light discussion session with the media crew.
The Land Bank Agency itself was officially formed in 2021 through the issuance of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 113 of 2021 concerning the Structure and Implementation of the Land Bank.
Since it effectively started in 2022, Minister Nusron revealed that the Land Bank Agency has currently managed around 27 thousand hectares of land.
“In my opinion, it is very small for a land bank because there are so many needs,” he said.
The initial purpose of establishing the Land Bank Agency was to ensure the availability of land for public, social, development, land consolidation, economic equality, and Agrarian Reform.
“This land bank is to utilize land, what will be done with former HGU (Right to Cultivate, ed.) that was handed over to the Land Bank,” said Minister Nusron.
“This is also a challenge for the Land Bank to be able to innovate, the creativity of the Land Bank, what are the ideas, the more ideas, and the more it improves the economy, the more we empower it. If not, then no,” said the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN.
For information, this media meeting was attended by around 80 media crews. The warm discussion session was moderated by the Head of the Public Relations Bureau, Harison Mocodompis.
Also present on this occasion were the Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN, Ossy Dermawan and the High and Middle Leadership Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN.
