Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid gave his first briefing to the ranks of the BPN Regional Office (Kanwil) of West Papua and West Sumatra Provinces, Monday (02/12/2024) via online.

In both meetings, he introduced himself and emphasized that the ranks provide the best service to the community.

“The main task of the Sir/Madam at the Land Office is in public services.

This public service exists every day, and public services in all sectors are issues regarding the length of service and illegal levies (pungli).

So, our task is how to change this image to be fast and clean.

Therefore, improvements are needed,” explained Minister Nusron.

According to him, improving public services can start from improving the system and human resources (HR).

“The system means business processes and IT Solutions.

We at the Head Office are trying to simplify business processes accelerated by technology (IT), but still prioritizing accountability and prudence, and oriented towards risk management.

So every time we work, we can think about if this is the step, will there be a lawsuit in the future?” said Minister Nusron.

In addition to public services, Minister Nusron also appealed to the ranks of the West Papua Province BPN Regional Office to improve their understanding in the field of spatial planning.

“I know that the majority of 80% of BPN employees are all land people, there are rarely those who are truly experts in the field of spatial planning.

Therefore, you must also understand the issue of spatial planning.

In addition, you must be able to build collaboration with the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service in the regional government (Pemda),” he appealed.

Still related to services, to the ranks of the West Sumatra Province BPN Regional Office, Minister Nusron conveyed two messages that he emphasized, namely regarding digitalization and business processes in terms of public services.

“Digitalization (of land services, ed.) and business processes must be made simpler,” emphasized the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN in his briefing.

In addition to accelerating services to the public, the digitalization carried out is expected to reduce obstacles in service.

One of them is, such as illegal levies (pungli) which are considered to still occur in a number of regions.

“Because the issue about service is generally delays and also extortion.

That’s what we have to change so that it is faster and cleaner, there is no payment,” said Nusron Wahid.

Starting the briefing, a presentation of the strategic program achievements was carried out by the Head of the West Papua BPN Regional Office, Jhon Wiclif Aufa and the Head of the West Sumatra BPN Regional Office, Dewi Sri Puspita.

In the meeting attended by all Administrator and Supervisory Officials in the West Papua and West Sumatra BPN Regional Offices, the moderator was the Head of the Public Relations Bureau, Harison Mocodompis.

Also present at this briefing were a number of Middle and Primary High-Level Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN.
