The rapid advancement of technology requires all parties to be more innovative and creative in utilizing it, including in the education sector.
This was conveyed by the Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Tangerang Intan Nurul Hikmah when opening the Workshop on the Utilization of ICT in Meaningful Learning in Elementary Schools.
“I am sure that with the integration of this technology, learning methods in elementary schools can be more interactive and enjoyable for students,” he said at the Kitri Bhakti Hall, Curug District, Tuesday (04/03/2025).
The Deputy Regent reminded that technology is only a tool, the main role remains with the teacher.
Pedagogical skills and approaches that are in accordance with the characteristics of students must remain the main concern.
“Teachers must remain present among students, don’t let the ease of ICT make us distant from students,” he said.
He expressed his gratitude and appreciated the initiative of the Education Office in holding this ICT utilization workshop which is expected to provide real benefits for the world of education in Tangerang Regency.
“In the future, we will strive for digital tool infrastructure in the world of education, in order to produce a generation that is intelligent, creative and ready to face challenges,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Education Office, Dadan Gandana said that the purpose of holding a workshop on the use of ICT in learning in Elementary Schools was to provide teachers with provisions in integrating ICT into classroom learning in addition to the professional, pedagogical, personality and social competencies that teachers must have.
“A total of 500 elementary school teachers participated in the workshop that we held for two days starting from March 4-5, 2025 with competent speakers,” explained Dadan.
Dadan hopes that in the future elementary school students can gain learning experience from the use of ICT provided by teachers.
“With ICT, teachers can easily provide interesting learning to students,” he concluded.
