The Tangerang Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) conducted a raid on social ills at a number of boarding houses suspected of being locations for prostitution practices in Suka Asih Village, Pasar Kemis District, on Wednesday (5/3/2025).

This operation was carried out to maintain public order and enforce Regional Regulations (Perda).

In the raid, officers targeted several locations that had previously received reports from the public.

As a result, two women suspected of being involved in online prostitution practices through applications were found in one of the boarding houses.

The Head of Tangerang Regency Satpol PP, Agus Suryana, emphasized that this operation was an ongoing step in regulating the environment and preventing the negative impacts of prostitution practices on the surrounding community.

“We received many reports from residents regarding this disturbing activity. Therefore, we went directly to follow up on the reports and ensure that the boarding houses were not misused,” he said.

In addition to prosecuting residents caught in the raid, officers also provided guidance and stern warnings to boarding house owners to be more selective in accepting tenants.

If proven to have violated the regulations, strict sanctions will be given according to applicable provisions.

The Head of Satpol PP also said that his party was also supervising business premises in the Panongan and Cikupa Districts.

One focus of supervision is billiard businesses that are still operating outside operating hours during the holy month of Ramadan.

“We are supervising billiard businesses in the two districts,” explained Agus Suryana.

From the results of the supervision, several billiard businesses were found to have violated the provisions of the Tangerang Regent’s Circular Letter No. 2 of 2025 concerning the operating hours of cafes, restaurants, eateries, and public entertainment services during Ramadan 1446 H/2025 M.

“For businesses that violate, we provide a statement letter signed directly by the person in charge of the business. If they still violate the rules, Satpol PP will take stricter action,” he said.

He also appealed to the public to play an active role in maintaining environmental order by reporting suspicious activities.

“Similar raids and surveillance will continue to be carried out periodically to create a safer and more conducive environment,” he concluded.
