President of the Republic of Indonesia Opens Simultaneous Rice Planting Movement in 14 Provinces, Tangerang Becomes Central Point in Banten.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Prabowo Subianto virtually opened the Simultaneous Rice Planting Movement in 14 provinces as a strategic step to strengthen national food security.

Rancalabuh Village, Kemiri District, Tangerang Regency, became one of the central points of the simultaneous planting activities in Banten Province, Wednesday (23/5/25).

Tangerang Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid in his statement said that rice planting in Tangerang Regency went smoothly and was fully supported by the community.

“Today, rice planting activities in Kemiri District went well. I accompanied the Governor, the Regional Police Chief, the Deputy Attorney General.

The Police Chief, and the Military District Commander symbolically starting the morning planting continued by the farmers.

We hope that the harvest will be successful in the next four months,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

He said that the average productivity of rice in Tangerang Regency reached 7 tons per hectare.

The Tangerang Regency Government together with Banten Province continues to ensure support and assistance to farmers such as smooth distribution of fertilizers, agricultural tools and pest control drugs.

“This is a very good achievement. The regional government together with the Banten Provincial Government continues to ensure that the distribution of fertilizers, agricultural tools, and pest control runs optimally,” he said.

The government also ensures that it will continue to synergize and coordinate with Bulog to absorb farmers’ harvests at competitive prices.

“The price of rice has reached IDR 6,500 per kilogram. This is of course welcomed positively by farmers because it can improve their welfare,” he said.

Meanwhile, Banten Governor Andra Soni said that Banten Province is targeting a planting area in the Banten region of around 38,000 hectares by April 2025.

“This year’s rice production target is 2.8 million tons, or equivalent to 1.8 million tons of rice. We are encouraging this with land intensification, modernization of equipment, and improvement of irrigation,” explained Andra Soni.

Andra added that land optimization in the southern region of Banten is one of the keys to increasing production.

His party will also continue to strengthen cooperation and collaboration with all levels of Forkopimda and various other parties to increase food security in Banten Province.

“We are supported by Forkopimda and continue to strengthen cross-sector collaboration. With the spirit of mutual cooperation, Banten is ready to increase its contribution to national food security,” he concluded.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, who was connected virtually in Banyuasin, South Sumatra, conveyed the importance of technological transformation and efficiency in the agricultural sector to increase productivity.

“Previously, planting one hectare of rice took 25 days. Now, thanks to technological mechanization, 25 hectares can be planted in a day. This is a big leap,” he said.

Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia now has a great opportunity to lead the world’s green revolution. For that, food security as one of the main foundations of national stability must continue to be improved.

“Indonesia is not only able to be self-sufficient, but also become the world’s food barn. We can help other countries.

This is a source of pride and responsibility,” he said.

He also emphasized that as long as we are able to produce food, we do not need to be afraid of global economic fluctuations.
