The Tangerang Regent attended the declaration and inauguration of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Independent Farmers (TMI) of Tangerang Regency, held at the Sebaguna Building (GSG) in East Sepatan District, Sunday (July 27, 2025).
In his remarks, Regent Maesyal Rasyid invited the Tangerang Regency TMI DPD to become a strategic partner of the Tangerang Regency Government in building and realizing food sovereignty and improving the welfare of Tangerang Regency farmers.
“I hope that the presence of Indonesian Independent Farmers, especially at the regional level, can become a strategic partner for the government in building food sovereignty,.
Improving farmer welfare, and encouraging the regeneration of innovative and competitive young farmers,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.
He emphasized that the Tangerang Regency Government is ready to synergize and provide support, both through integrated agricultural programs.
Training, access to capital, and strengthening farmer institutions towards independent, prosperous, and highly competitive farmers.
“I hope this organization can become a forum to voice farmers’ aspirations, develop the capacity of young farmers, and strengthen the role of farmer groups and farmer associations (Gapoktan) as the vanguard of local food and energy development,” he said.
According to him, farmers are the spearhead of national resilience. When farmers are strong, the community will prosper. When the community is prosperous.
Tangerang Regency will become even more vibrant and highly competitive.
He also asked the Tangerang Regency TMI Regional Leadership Council (DPD) to jointly strengthen collaboration with the Merah Putih Cooperative, which was recently launched by President Prabowo.
“I request that collaboration with the Merah Putih Cooperative be implemented. We must provide opportunities for farmer groups to operate. Farmer groups can harvest,
