Charlie Candra Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison in Document Forgery Cass

The Tangerang District Court (PN) sentenced defendant Charlie Candra to four years in prison. He was found legally and convincingly proven to have participated in the crime of document forgery.

“We sentence defendant Charlie Candra, son of Sumita Candra, to four years in prison,” said Chief Judge H. Muhammad Alfi Sahrin Usup in his ruling on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Muhammad Alfi Sahrin emphasized that all objections and pleas from the defendant and his legal team were inadmissible because Charlie’s actions fulfilled the elements of Article 263.

Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

“The panel of judges finds no justification or excuse that could erase the defendant’s unlawful nature. Therefore, the defendant must be sentenced appropriately.”

In the verdict, the panel of judges determined, Declaring defendant Charlie Candra, son of Sumita Chandra, legally and convincingly proven guilty of the crime of participating in document forgery.

Sentencing defendant Charlie Candra, son of Sumita Candra, to four years in prison.

Determining that the period of arrest and detention already served by the defendant be deducted entirely from the sentence imposed, ordering the defendant to remain in detention.

Determining that evidence, one power of attorney dated February 9, 2023, one attachment 13.

One statement of land ownership certificate owned by the applicant dated February 9, 2023, and one bundle of land ownership certificates numbered 5 LEMO in the name of Sumita Candra, are used in the Sukamto SH Mkn case.

Charge the defendant with court costs of Rp 5,000.

The panel of judges also considered aggravating factors, namely that the defendant’s actions caused losses to PT Mandiri Bangun Makmur amounting to Rp 270 million and the defendant’s convoluted behavior during the trial.

Meanwhile, mitigating factors included the defendant’s prior convictions, his polite behavior during the trial, and his family’s support.

With this verdict, Charlie Candra is confirmed to continue serving his prison sentence as determined by the Tangerang District Court panel of judges.
