Tangerang Deputy Regent Intan Nurul Hikmah stated that the accuracy of legal metrology is crucial and must be continuously maintained to ensure accurate measurement results.

“Legal metrology is an integral part of people’s daily lives.
Scales in markets, measuring instruments at gas stations, and even drug dosages used in healthcare services all depend heavily on measurement accuracy,” said Deputy Regent Intan while opening the Technical Guidance for Legal Metrology Supervision/Counseling at the Atria Gading Serpong Hotel, Kelapa Dua District, Wednesday (11/19/25).
In her remarks, Deputy Regent Intan emphasized the crucial role of the Department of Industry and Trade, particularly the Legal Metrology Division.
In ensuring the use of standardized measuring instruments and preventing violations that harm the public.
Therefore, he strongly supports and expresses his gratitude to the Department of Industry and Trade for its efforts to increase literacy and awareness of measurement procedures among business actors.
“Thank you to the Department of Industry and Trade.
I hope the participants, especially business actors who own UTTP (Used to Measure Equipment), can gain a more comprehensive understanding of metrology policies, oversight mechanisms, and legal enforcement aspects,” he said.
The Head of the Tangerang Regency Department of Industry and Trade, Resmiyati Marningsih, reported.
That one of the objectives of the activity was to foster awareness and responsibility among business actors in carrying out mandatory recalibration of measuring instruments, scales, and equipment.
“Approximately 80 participants, including business actors who own measuring instruments, scales, and equipment, were invited.
Speakers were from the Directorate of Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and the Tangerang Regency District Attorney’s Office,” Resmi said.
She added that throughout 2025, her office will routinely inspect measuring instruments at gas stations (SPBU), gas stations (SPBE), companies, and individual business actors.
“In 2025, inspections were conducted on 275 companies, including factories, gas stations, gas stations, and individual businesses, such as laundries, fruit vendors, and vendors in 30 markets,” he explained.
