Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, emphasized the important role of the Indonesian Society of Cadastral Survey Experts (MASKI).
as a strategic partner of the Ministry of ATR/BPN in realizing orderly, accurate, and integrated land administration.
This was conveyed while serving as a keynote speaker at the 2025 MASKI National Conference (Munas) in Bali, Tuesday (November 25, 2025).
“You are a strategic partner of ATR/BPN. Therefore, I invite all of us to work together to improve land tenure management and land administration,” said Minister Nusron in his remarks.
Addressing hundreds of MASKI members from various regions in Indonesia, Minister Nusron stated that the quality of the Ministry of ATR/BPN’s work
depends heavily on the quality of the performance of its cadastral surveyors. The better the standards implemented by MASKI, the stronger the results of its land work.
He requested MASKI to develop comprehensive standards, quality assurance, quality control, and a code of conduct for all its members.
“Land products must be usable, prudent, and have a clear risk management dimension. Everything must be checked individually, valid, and solid without the slightest deviation,” Minister Nusron emphasized.
According to Minister Nusron, various land issues always begin with incomplete or inaccurate physical information.
“If a single piece of land can be owned by two to five people, there must be something wrong. Physical truth is singular,” Minister Nusron emphasized at the National Conference themed “Improving Surveyor Competence and Legal Compliance
Licensing and Cadastral Data Business Opportunities in the Indonesian Land Ecosystem.”
Addressing the National Conference participants, Minister Nusron invited MASKI to formulate regulations that strengthen professionalism, including the possibility of requiring certification.
Additional competencies related to integrity and risk management for all independent surveyors. “The product will only be credible if the process is credible, and you are the ones who understand the process best,” he concluded.
With the successful holding of the 2025 MASKI National Conference, Minister Nusron also congratulated the surveyors and encouraged them to maintain integrity and ensure that all land information is presented clearly and accurately.
“Don’t let community ownership rights become obscured due to cadastral errors. The public has the right to receive the most transparent land information possible,” he concluded.
The event also featured presentations from several speakers, including the Director General of Land and Spatial Surveys and Mapping, Virgo Eresta Jaya, and the Head of the Bogor II Regency Land Office.
Accompanying Minister Nusron were the Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau, Shamy Ardian, and the Head of the Bali Provincial National Land Agency (BPN) Regional Office, I Made Daging, and staff. Also in attendance was the General Chair of MASKI, Loerdi Latrianto.
