Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid symbolically provided free PDAM clean water connections to 250 families in Tanjakan Mekar Village, Rajeg District, on Friday (12/19/2025).

This assistance is part of the “Clean Water for the People” program implemented by the Tangerang Regency Government and Perumdam Tirta Kerta Raharja (TKR).

In addition to free installation, residents also receive free water usage for the first three months.

Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid stated that his presence with his staff, including the Head of the Environment and Sanitation Agency (DLHK) and the President Director of PDAM TKR, aimed to:

ensure commitment to commence clean water network construction in areas that have not yet received optimal clean water service.

“Today we begin construction of the PDAM clean water service network in Tanjakan Mekar Village. All equipment is ready and construction has begun.

Thank God, the community, who have been waiting for clean water services for a long time, can now enjoy it,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

He continued, explaining that in the initial phase, approximately 250 families received free clean water connections, including waived water usage fees for the first three months. After the fourth month, residents will be charged according to usage.

“This policy demonstrates the commitment of the local government and PDAM.

We hope this clean water service will improve public health and support residents’ daily needs,” he added.

He also responded to community complaints about the condition of road infrastructure in the area.

“Through the Clean Water for the People program, we installed clean water pipes for 250 families in Tanjakan Mekar Village free of charge.

In addition, PDAM TKR also provided basic food assistance to all beneficiaries,” he said.

The Clean Water for the People program is expected to meet the community’s basic water needs and improve the quality of life for residents of Tanjakan Mekar Village and the surrounding area.

Asep, a resident of Tanjakan Mekar Village, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the assistance he and the other residents had longed for.

“We would like to thank the Tangerang Regency Government, especially the Tangerang Regent, and PDAM. This clean water connection is much needed by the community.

The free installation and free water usage for three months are a huge help to us,” he said.
