The Tangerang Regency Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) held a joint prayer gathering (Istigosah) to welcome the New Year 2026 on Tuesday (December 30th).

Prayers were also offered for those affected by disasters in various regions of Indonesia.

The Istigosah and prayer gathering was led by the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Tangerang Regency, KH. Uwes Nawawi. The gathering was solemn and full of reverence, and was attended by members of the Tangerang Regency Forkopimda, religious leaders,

community leaders, community organizations, and various elements of the Tigaraksa community.

The event also featured national speaker Ustadz Dr. Adi Hidayat, Lc., M.A., who in his sermon encouraged the entire congregation.

This is to strengthen faith, increase social awareness, and make the turn of the year a moment for self-reflection and self-improvement.

Tangerang Regent Maesyal Rasyid expressed his appreciation to the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) and all parties who participated in the activity.

He emphasized the importance of prayer as a spiritual foundation in facing future challenges.

“This momentum is for introspection and strengthening togetherness with all elements of society so that Tangerang Regency will always be blessed with blessings.

Security and prosperity,” concluded Regent Maesyal.

The Regent also encouraged the public to increase empathy for those affected by disasters in Indonesia.

“Let’s pray that our families and brothers and sisters may recover quickly,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tangerang Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Andi M. Indra Waspada, in his remarks, stated that this istigosah activity was a form of spiritual effort

and an effort to strengthen synergy between security forces, local government, and the community.

“Through this istigosah (prayer) and joint prayer, we ask for protection, safety, and peace for Tangerang Regency in particular, and Indonesia in general.

We hope that in the coming year, the public order and security situation will become more conducive, the community will be safer, and unity will be maintained,” he said.

He also invited the community to work together to maintain security and order, especially in the lead-up to the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The event also included the distribution of donations to orphans, followed by a direct collection of donations, and concluded.

The prayer, led by Ustadz Dr. Adi Hidayat, concluded with the hope that the coming year will bring peace, safety, and blessings to all Indonesians.
