Tangerang, POSINTERNASIONAL.COM.

Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, along with Deputy Regent Intan Nurul Hikmah, inaugurated a free school bus stop owned by the Tangerang Regency Government, Banten.

The inauguration took place at the bus stop located on Jalan Baru Matagara, Tigaraksa, on Monday (January 5, 2026).

The Tangerang Regent, along with the Deputy Regent, the Regional Secretary, and members of the Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) directly inspected the operation of the free school bus and witnessed students using the facility.

In his remarks, Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid stated that the free school bus program demonstrates the local government’s commitment to providing the best possible service to the community, particularly in the areas of education and transportation.

The inauguration of this school bus stop coincided with the first day of school for the 2026 academic year.

“Today, along with the Deputy Regent, the Regional Secretary, and all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), we witnessed our children returning to school in 2026 using free school buses.

Thank God, they were happy and expressed their gratitude.

The regional government continues to strive to improve public services,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

He explained that in the initial phase, the Tangerang Regency Government has operated 15 free school buses serving several designated zones, with an additional two operational support vehicles.

“Currently, seven school bus stops have been prepared, and we are centering the inauguration on Jalan Pemda.

These free school buses are expected to provide economic benefits, safety, and comfort, while also facilitating the supervision of our children,” he explained.

He added that all school buses are equipped with a technology-based monitoring application system.

This system functions to control vehicle speed, ensure drivers comply with the maximum speed limit of 60 km/h, and enforce other safety regulations.

“This bus is equipped with an application system, its speed is controlled at a maximum of 60 km/h, there are sanctions for violations, and drivers are also prohibited from smoking while driving.

All of this is for the safety and comfort of students,” he emphasized.

He hopes the free school bus program can continue to be developed and the number of fleets and routes expanded according to the needs of each region in the future.

“Hopefully, in 2026 and beyond, we can expand this program according to regional needs.

We ask for your prayers and support so that we can continue to optimize services to the community, especially in the areas of education and transportation, gradually,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, M. Azzam, a student at SMA Negeri 18 Tangerang Regency, expressed his happiness and appreciation for the free school buses and bus stops provided by the Tangerang Regency Government.

“We are greatly helped by these free school buses.

Thank God, we are all happy because now going to school is more comfortable, less hot, and there are dedicated bus stops.

Hopefully, in the future, the routes can be expanded and the service even better,” he said.
