Tangerang Regent, Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, personally inspected the progress of land preparation for the Jatiwaringin Final Disposal Site (TPA), located in Mauk District, on Monday (January 5, 2026).
During his visit, Regent Maesyal Rasyid was accompanied by the Tangerang Regency Environmental Agency (DLH) and the Director of the Tirta Kerta Raharja Water Company (PDAM).
The Regent and his entourage directly observed the progress of land preparation and compaction, which is the initial stage of the construction of this energy-based waste processing facility.
“Thank God, today, together with the Environmental Agency and the Director of PDAM, we inspected the Jatiwaringin TPA.
To assess the readiness of the land preparation and compaction for the waste-to-electricity processing facility.
Overall, progress has reached approximately 95 percent,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.
He explained that the final land preparation and compaction work is still underway.
However, the process has been slightly hampered by the rainy season.
“There are indeed some obstacles due to the weather, but we see that the Environmental Agency (DLH) has made excellent efforts, including covering the mountains and piles of waste with geomembranes.
This is a positive step in landfill management,” he said.
He added that once the land preparation and compaction process is complete, the Tangerang Regency Government will immediately report on the readiness.

Regarding the volume of waste supply, he emphasized that Tangerang Regency has sufficient waste volume to support the PSEL’s future operations.
“The minimum requirement is around 1,000 tons of waste per day. Tangerang Regency itself currently handles approximately 2,700 tons per day.
In the future, there will be collaboration with Tangerang City and South Tangerang City,” he explained.
He hopes that the PSEL at the Jatiwaringin Landfill will provide a long-term solution for sustainable waste management while also generating environmentally friendly electricity.
“We hope that this waste-to-electricity processing process can proceed smoothly and optimally, providing significant benefits to the community and the environment,” he concluded.
