Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid visited and directly monitored the flood location in Jenggot Village, Mekar Baru District, on February 4, 2026.

During his visit, Regent Maesyal Rasyid, accompanied by the Head of the Public Works and Water Resources Agency and the Head of the Tangerang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

Visited several flood-affected areas, the Head of the Mekar Baru District, and members of the local Forkopimcam (Regional Leadership Communication Forum) to inspect several areas affected by the flooding and ensure that emergency response efforts were underway.

This included addressing the condition of infrastructure and the needs of the affected community.

“The Tangerang Regency Government is here to ensure that flood management is carried out quickly and in a coordinated manner.

The safety and basic needs of the community are our top priority,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

He explained that the short-term measures taken include cleaning culverts and areas around bridges, which are among the causes of water blockages.

Meanwhile, for long-term management, the Tangerang Regency Government will conduct a technical study.

One of these plans is to raise the bridge’s height to prevent it from obstructing water flow again during heavy rainfall.

“This solution is not just temporary, but must be sustainable. We will conduct a technical study so that a long-term solution can be implemented immediately,” he explained.

He also continues to urge the public to remain vigilant for the potential for extreme weather and to immediately report any emergencies in their respective areas.

“I ask the public to remain vigilant and prepared to face any potential occurrences resulting from this extreme weather.

Report immediately any emergencies,” he urged.

In addition to monitoring, the Regent also distributed basic food aid to support the operation of public kitchens and assist flood-affected communities in the area.
