TANGERANG, POSINTERNASIONAL.COM.
Tangerang Regent, Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, requested that sub-districts and relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) simultaneously hold a Cheap Food Movement (GPM) ahead of Ramadan 1447 H/2026 AD.
This was stated by Regent Maesyal Rasyid while attending the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) coordination meeting ahead of Ramadan at the Tangerang Regency Government Leadership Communication Center (GSG) on February 11, 2026.
“I ask the sub-district heads, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture, and other relevant parties to coordinate with each other to hold a Cheap Food Movement simultaneously on one day ahead of Ramadan,” requested Regent Maesyal Rasyid.
He continued, the Tangerang Regency Government, along with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), will soon discuss a Circular Letter (SE) to maintain purity and tranquility during Ramadan.
To that end, he has also instructed the relevant OPDs.
We will continue to strengthen synergy and collaboration with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in collaboration with the Tangerang City Government and the South Tangerang City Government so that the circular issued will be uniform across both regions.
“Tomorrow, we will discuss with the MUI a circular on maintaining purity and tranquility during Ramadan.
We also want this circular to be uniform across both Tangerang City and South Tangerang,” he said.
He added that the joint circular issued will include, among other things, the temporary closure of nightlife venues and restrictions on the operating hours of restaurants and eateries.
And other appeals to work together to maintain purity and tranquility during Ramadan.
“We will implement this circular no later than one day before Ramadan and two or three days after Eid al-Fitr.
We will immediately draft and discuss it so that it can be signed and distributed to the public,” he added.
Meanwhile, Tangerang Deputy Regent Intan Nurul Hikmah emphasized the importance of targeting GPM recipients accurately and ensuring accurate data.
Regarding price fluctuations and the availability of basic commodities, especially in the run-up to Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr,
“We want the implementation of the GPM to be accurately targeted to recipients.
The accuracy of data related to prices and the availability of basic necessities is also continuously monitored so that we can collectively take anticipatory measures,” he emphasized.
He also emphasized the importance of firm enforcement efforts as a deterrent to those who violate established regulations.
This includes price manipulation and any activities that detract from the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan.
“If there are violations, how should they be reported? Don’t let it be just a formality. Firm action must be taken against violators.
This must be implemented so that the public can carry out their religious obligations safely and comfortably,” he concluded.
Another issue that needs to be discussed, given the collective attention and vigilance at the Coordination Meeting:
The potential for disasters, given the rainy season and various activities during Ramadan, can create chaos and disrupt public order and security.
