1 DECADE OF AGRARIAN REFORM, THE STORY OF AN EX-EAST TIMOR REFUGEE COMMUNITY WHO FINALLY VALIDLY RECEIVED A CERTIFICATE

Denpasar, POSINTERNATIONAL.COM

The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is holding the 2024 Agrarian Reform Summit as a forum for integrating, combining all ministries/institutions and also regional governments to resolve land issues.

In this activity, the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) handed over Electronic Land Certificates resulting from Land Redistribution for ulayat land,

BMN/BMD assets, places of worship and waqf land, as well as to representatives of the Sumberklampok Village community.

The handover of this certificate is a good achievement in the context of a decade of Agrarian Reform in Indonesia.

The ATR/BPN Ministry's efforts have been quite successful in asset management and access management, reaching various levels of society.

Like the story about Land Redistribution for former East Timorese refugees who finally received land certificates at the 2024 Agrarian Reform Summit in Denpasar, Bali on Saturday (15/06/2024).

Komang Rentiasa (51), one of the recipients of the certificate resulting from the Land Redistribution, said that he did not expect that the certificate received for the 435 m2 residential land would be handed over in the form of an Electronic Land Certificate.

When asked about the certification process he had gone through, Komang Rentiasa admitted that the process had taken 24 years. Until finally today he succeeded in getting his rights.

"At that time the situation in East Timor was volatile, until finally the government placed us in the current Sumberklampok Village, which at that time was still a forest area, more precisely production forest land," explained Komang Rentiasa.

He hopes that after receiving a certificate for his residential land, the certification will continue for his other cultivated land.

"We work as farmers every day. Of course we need arable land for farming as stage 2 certification. The government is currently working on this, hopefully it can come out too," hoped Komang Rentiasa.

Putu Astawa (53) also expressed the same thing. He was also one of the recipients of the certificate at the 2024 Agrarian Reform Summit which was handed over directly by Minister AHY.

"We have been waiting for 24 years, finally we received this certificate. Thank you for the hard work of the Bali Provincial Government, BPN, and all parties involved.

Previously, we were assisted by the village head in the process to the district, then to the governor, until finally now it has been well received ," said Putu Astawa gratefully.
