Acting Regent of Tangerang, Andi Ony, invited all residents of Tangerang Regency to emulate the struggle of Raden Aria Wangsakara who had rendered services in defending the Tangerang region from colonization.

The invitation was conveyed at the 2024 Heroes’ Day Commemoration Ceremony at the Raden Aria Wangsakara Heroes’ Cemetery (TMP), Jalan Lengkong Kiai, Lengkong Kulon, Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency, Sunday (10/11/2024).

“Let us emulate the spirit of struggle of Raden Aria Wangsakara who fought to defend the Tangerang region from colonization,” Andi Ony invited in his remarks.

He invited all residents to jointly maintain and improve Tangerang Regency as an advanced, competitive, and prosperous region.

On that occasion, the Acting Regent also read the mandate from the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia with the theme “Emulate Your Heroes, Love Your Country”.

This theme contains a deep message about the importance of the spirit of heroism that needs to be manifested in every thought and deed.

As well as a real role in building the nation and strengthening social solidarity amidst global challenges.

“The process of struggle to build a nation always changes with the times.

If in the past heroism was manifested through the struggle against colonialism.

So now heroism is an effort to eradicate poverty and ignorance which are the roots of social problems in Indonesia,” said Andi Ony.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the spirit of heroism in this modern era means building a prosperous society and creating lifelong social protection.

According to him, the progress of the nation is not only measured by economic growth, but also by the ability to overcome social problems.

He also hopes for the birth of modern heroic figures who can bring inspiration and hope to society, and dare to innovate to answer the challenges of the times.

Andi Ony emphasized the importance of utilizing the moment of Heroes’ Day to create real changes that are beneficial to society, so that the value of heroism remains alive and becomes a legacy for future generations.

“Let us implement the traits of heroism and social solidarity starting from ourselves, starting from small things that have an impact on the surrounding community,” he added.

After the ceremony, the Acting Regent of Tangerang together with the Forkopimda elements carried out a flower-laying procession at the grave of Raden Aria Wangsakara as a form of respect for the hero who rendered great services to Tangerang.
