National Press Day (HPN): Preparation and implementation of activities to celebrate HPN in 2025.

The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Tangerang Regency held a management meeting to prepare the 2025 work program, Thursday (23/01).

The meeting, led by the Chairperson of PWI Tangerang Regency, Sri Mulyo, was attended by the advisory board, one of whom was H. Chaerul Djamal, and other management members, Thursday, January 23, 2025.

In the meeting which took place at the PWI Tangerang Regency secretariat, various strategic matters were discussed, including preparations for National Press Day (HPN).

The Tangerang Regency Journalists Sports Week, and member competency improvement programs.

Sri Mulyo, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of collaboration between members to achieve common goals.

“We hope that with these programs, PWI Tangerang Regency can further contribute to improving the quality of journalism in our region,” he said.

Meanwhile, H. Chaerul Djamal, one of the advisory boards, gave his views on the importance of professionalism in the PWI professional organization.

“Professionalism is the key to increasing our credibility as journalists.

We must always comply with the journalistic code of ethics and improve our competence in order to provide accurate and useful information to the public,” he said.

The meeting prepared a work program, including:

Restructuring of management : This is because several advisory boards and administrators were appointed as administrators of the Banten Province PWI for the 2024-2029 period.

Journalist Sports Week: Plans to hold the Tangerang Regency Journalist Sports Week as a means of friendship and competition between journalists.

Member Competency Improvement: Training programs and workshops to improve members’ skills and knowledge in the field of journalism.

Media Literacy Activities: The Tangerang Regency PWI also plans to hold media literacy activities to improve public understanding of journalism in the digital era.

These activities will include digital literacy training, citizen journalism workshops, public discussions, awareness campaigns, and collaboration with schools and universities.

H. Chaerul Djamal also reminded that professionalism is not only an individual responsibility, but is a reflection of the entire organization.

“PWI must be an example for other journalist organizations in implementing good and correct journalistic principles,” he added.

With high enthusiasm and commitment, PWI Tangerang Regency hopes to continue to grow and provide a positive impact on the world of the press in Indonesia.
