Artist Butet Kartaredjasa was reported to the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit following his confession of being intimidated by the police during a theater performance entitled Bebuyutan Enemy at Taman Ismail Marzuki a few days ago, Saturday (08/12).
The Oral Advocates Community will report Butet to the police because there are suspicions that the Butet artist has committed a violation of calling a public gathering and gathering without permission from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

“We hope that Seni Butet deserves to be considered for the title,” said Fatoni.
Deputy Chairperson of Lisan, Ahmad Fatoni, said that the complaint was made because Butet was considered to be spreading hoaxes.
The reason, he said, was that the act of intimidation mentioned by Butet had been denied by the executive committee and the police.
“Mr Butet’s statement has been clarified by the organizing committee, which in this case directly handles permits,” said Ahmad Fatoni at Bareskrim Polri.
“The committee stated that there had never been any intimidation from the police.
“He emphasized that there was nothing on the part of the police about what was appropriate for this to be carried out,” said Ahmad Fatoni, quoted by CNNI.
According to Fatoni, Butet’s statement, which eventually went viral, also misled the public. Remembering that the theater performance continued to run smoothly without any problems caused by police guarding.
“We also hope that the authorities will monitor art appropriately during this political year,” he said.
The police said that up to now there has been no art performance held by Butet without carrying out valid permits.
“Especially as this is approaching the political year, the police are also wary of gatherings and community organizations should be suspicious,” he said.
