Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) attended a dinner as the opening event in the 2024 World Water Forum (WWF) series.
He was present and sat with a number of Indonesian Cabinet Minister Maju at the event which took place at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park, Bali on Sunday (19/05/2024) evening.
As host, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) welcomed the heads of state and delegates invited to the 10th WWF, including during the gala dinner agenda.
In his speech, he expressed the hope that this agenda could bring a shared enthusiasm for improving the environment.
What was discussed at the 10th WWF was related to world water and sanitation management policies.
According to Minister AHY, this is a challenge for nations in the world.
The spirit promoted through this forum is to find solutions together with the 149 other countries present to overcome the scarcity of clean water.
If one of these challenges is resolved, Minister AHY hopes that water security can be introduced which includes Indonesia.
In this way, people in the world, including Indonesia, will never have water problems.
While eating dinner, Minister AHY enjoyed the entertainment that accompanied the dinner.
The entertainment began with the shady sound of the Sape guitar typical of the Dayak Tribe, East Kalimantan, which performed Indonesian and foreign pop songs as an instrument.
Minister AHY also witnessed typical dances from a number of regions such as Bali which were performed as opening dances.
Then typical Sumbawa dances from West Nusa Tenggara and Malay which added a strong Indonesian feel.
WWF itself is the largest international forum that discusses and formulates world water and sanitation management policies.
The heads of state and delegations who attended this evening were treated to traditional dishes and cultural performances typical of the archipelago.
