Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Tangerang, Intan Nurul Hikmah, inaugurated the Modern Library for Reading and Learning (Gembala) in Curug Sangereng Village, Kelapa Dua District, Wednesday (6/18/25).

In her remarks, Deputy Regent Intan emphasized that the Modern Library Gembala, initiated by the Tangerang Regency Library and Archives Service.

Is not only an information center, but also a learning house, a house of inspiration, and a house that drives the community’s enthusiasm for reading, especially in Curug Sangereng Village.

“This modern library is not only an information center, but also a learning house, a house of inspiration, and a house that drives the spirit of reading in the community, especially the people of Curug Sangereng Village,” said Deputy Regent Intan.

Deputy Regent Intan also stated that education is the main foundation in building a superior and competitive generation.

In this fast-paced digital era, literacy is the key to achieving success.

The Tangerang Regency Government has launched a mission to realize quality education.

The presence of a modern library is expected to be one of the strategic steps in supporting this achievement.

“Through this Gemar Membaca dan Belajar, we want the people of Tangerang Regency, especially the younger generation.

To have a strong literacy culture so that they are able to adapt to the demands of the times and have competitiveness in global competition,” he added.

Deputy Regent Intan also asked the sub-districts and villages to continue to support the existence of this modern library so that its benefits can be felt sustainably by the community.

One form of support that is expected is the provision of a good internet connection, to facilitate access to the digital library.

“I ask the sub-districts and villages to also continue to support this modern library, for example by providing a good internet connection so that the community can access the digital library easily,” he requested.

Head of the Tangerang Regency Library and Archives Service, Hj. Nurul Hayati, in her report stated that her party continues to strive to expand the existence of modern libraries in all sub-districts, villages, and villages in Tangerang Regency.

This modern library is supported by digital and conventional collections and adequate facilities according to the needs of the current digitalization era.

“With this modern library, it is hoped that it can increase the public’s interest in reading, especially among the younger generation.

As part of an effort to educate the nation’s life and improve the quality of Tangerang Regency’s Human Resources to be superior and innovative,” said Hj. Nurul Hayati.

With the inauguration of the Gembala Modern Library, the Tangerang Regency Government hopes to encourage the public, especially the younger generation, to be more active in reading, learning, and developing themselves through existing information sources.

This library is one of the concrete steps to strengthen the culture of literacy in Tangerang Regency, as well as support the creation of a generation that is intelligent, innovative, and ready to compete globally.
