Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) handed over three certificates of waqf land belonging to the Babul Jannatul Firdaus Foundation at the Araafiul A'laa Mosque on Saturday (22/06/2024).
On this occasion, he confirmed the government's commitment to providing legal certainty for waqf lands.
"The spirit is that we will take care of it quickly and without charging any fees. Because waqf land is highly anticipated for its legality," said the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN after handing over the certificate.
He said that waqf land certification could provide religious communities with a sense of security in carrying out their worship.
For this reason, Minister AHY instructed staff to continue to promote certification for waqf lands.
The three certificates handed over this time were intended for the Araafiul A'laa Mosque building, Al-Quran Education Place, as well as mosque supporting facilities.
Previously, due to ignorance of the risk of conflict arising in the future, the land for this mosque was certified in the name of the previous Chairman of the Foundation.
Due to collaboration between the foundation, the Pontianak City Land Office (Kantah), the West Kalimantan Province BPN Regional Office (Kanwil), and the East Pontianak District Religious Affairs Office.
Finally, the Araafiul A'laa Mosque certificate became a waqf land certificate. The certificates submitted are now in electronic form, making them safer.
"I convey this and hopefully this (certification of waqf land, ed) will be conveyed to other residents of Pontianak and West Kalimantan.
"So that those who are still processing waqf certificates can be hastened," concluded the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN.
During this visit, Minister AHY was accompanied by the Minister's Special Staff and Expert Staff, Head of the Public Relations Bureau, Head of the BPN Regional Office, West Kalimantan Province; as well as the Regional Secretary of Pontianak City.
