The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is ready to assist in providing land to support the three million housing development program of the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP).

This was conveyed by the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Nusron Wahid directly to the Minister of PKP, Maruarar Sirait in a meeting held at the office of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, (7/11/2024).

Minister Nusron revealed that the Ministry of ATR/BPN has abandoned land originating from former Land Use Rights (HGU) covering an area of ​​1.3 million hectares.

“This is what can be followed up in the near future in Mojokerto covering an area of ​​151 hectares and in Tangerang 6 hectares.

But later it will be seen in detail, whether it is suitable or not. So how many are suitable we cannot announce yet, the team is still working,” said Minister Nusron.

In this meeting, the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN also admitted that he would cooperate with the Ministry of PKP in regulating spatial planning in housing and residential areas.

This refers to Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning, that every housing and settlement must provide 40% public facilities (fasum) and social facilities (fasos), such as mosques, playgrounds, sports venues, and so on.

“We will propose the formation of a joint Task Force to regulate spatial planning, especially in residential and housing areas. How the work pattern system will be, waiting for us to report to the President.

We do not want to preempt the President’s direction, but that is more or less his thinking,” said Minister Nusron.

On that occasion, the Minister of PKP was very grateful for the support given by Minister Nusron in the construction of three million houses intended for the common people.

“I thank Mr. Nusron, it really helps us.

Before he even arrived, Mr. Nusron immediately prepared some idle land, meaning that it is not problematic.

Of course we will prioritize the common people, later it’s just a matter of who needs the scheme,” said the Minister of PKP.

“And Mr. Nusron said that (the certificate, ed.) can later be used as collateral to the bank.

We also make all settlements orderly, how housing in Indonesia and other settlement areas must be open, not exclusive and also truly good for the Indonesian people,” continued Maruarar Sirait.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN Ossy Dermawan; Deputy Minister of PKP, Fahri Hamzah; the Heads of High-Ranking and Pratama Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN; Heads of High-Ranking Officials of the Ministry of PKP and their staff.
