Tangerang Regent Maesyal Rasyid inaugurated the KONI Tangerang Regency Secretariat Building and Sports Hall (GOR), located in Ranca Iyuh Village, Panongan District, on Saturday (January 10, 2026).
In his remarks, Regent Maesyal Rasyid stated that the inauguration of the KONI Secretariat Building and GOR demonstrates the Tangerang Regency Government’s commitment to promoting sustainable sports development.
“With these more representative facilities, we hope to strengthen the development of regional athletes and facilitate coordination between sports organizations.
And it will also serve as a platform for sports activities for the people of Tangerang Regency,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.
He also emphasized that the development of sports facilities and infrastructure is part of efforts to improve the quality of human resources and promote healthy lifestyles in the community.
“I hope this building can be utilized optimally, serving as a center for athlete development and open to the public who want to exercise,” he said.
Meanwhile, Eka Wibayu, Chairman of the Tangerang Regency KONI (Indonesian Sports Committee), stated that the presence of the KONI Secretariat Building and Sports Hall (GOR) is very helpful in improving organizational performance and athlete development.
“This building will facilitate coordination between sports branches, provide adequate administrative and training space, and serve as a center for regional-level training and competition activities,” he explained.
He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Tangerang Regency Government for the support provided.
“We thank the local government for providing this facility.
We will certainly utilize it to the fullest for the advancement of sports in Tangerang Regency,” he said.
Furthermore, Eka Wibayu also revealed that the Tangerang Regency KONI’s immediate agenda is to prepare for the 7th Banten Provincial Sports Week (Porprov), which will be held in South Tangerang City.
“Given our strengths and potential, Tangerang Regency is targeted to win the overall championship,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Tangerang Regency Spatial Planning and Building Agency, Hendri Hermawan, reported that the construction of the KONI Tangerang Regency Secretariat Building
has a building area of approximately 576 square meters and consists of two floors.
The Sports Hall (GOR) building has an area of approximately 875 square meters and also consists of two floors.
“The total construction area is 4,150 square meters, with a construction period of approximately 240 calendar days,” he explained.
The inauguration of the KONI Tangerang Regency Secretariat Building and Sports Hall was also attended by all KONI officials, heads of regional government agencies (OPD), members of the Forkopimcam (Campus Leadership Communication Forum), and sports branch administrators.
The event also included the presentation of donations to 60 orphans as a token of gratitude and the presentation of awards to outstanding athletes.
