Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) declared 14 Complete Cities in 7 provinces simultaneously on Thursday (30/05/2024).

The declaration of Tangerang City as a Complete City was carried out offline at the Novotel Tangerang Hotel and for the other 13 Complete Cities it was carried out online.

The 13 cities that were fully declared online this time are Pontianak City, Probolinggo City, Surabaya City I, Surabaya City II, Blitar City, Kediri City, Mojokerto City, Bukittinggi City, Sukabumi City, Cimahi City, Magelang City, Lhokseumawe City, and Langsa City.

From the target of 104 Complete Regencies/Cities which will be achieved by 2024, the 14 Complete Cities declared increase the number of Complete Cities to a total of 33 Complete Regencies/Cities throughout Indonesia. “God willing, complete 104 regencies/cities will be achieved by the end of this year,” said Minister AHY in his speech.

He then explained that the advantage of declaring an area a Complete City/Regency is that it provides legal certainty for the local community.

According to Minister AHY, legal certainty of land rights is a very basic thing that can create a sense of security and comfort for people in owning land.

“Therefore, I am happy that we have contributed to bringing legal certainty to the public, corporations who want to do business.

“Including investors who we really hope can channel and increase economic growth, opening up job opportunities,” said Minister AHY.

The Minister of ATR/Head of BPN hopes that, with legal certainty, the Indonesian economy, including in Banten, can continue to improve and make society more prosperous.

“This is the aim of Agrarian Reform which continues to be monitored and implemented well by the ranks of the Ministry of ATR/BPN,” he said.

By declaring a city a Complete City, it can also minimize land disputes and conflicts, as well as narrow the space for the land mafia.

“Indeed, land issues are very complex and fundamental.

“The more I understand this problem, the more I feel how urgent it is to find a solution for the community,” continued Minister AHY.

The benefits of Complete Regency/City are not only that.

There are other benefits such as making it easier for local governments to organize regional planning because all land plots have been recorded and registered.

As well as facilitating digital transformation or the implementation of electronic systems in the context of efficient services to the community.

Also present on this occasion were a number of Middle and Primary High Leadership Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Head of the Banten Province BPN Regional Office and their staff.

Acting Governor of Banten and Regents/Mayors throughout Banten; Banten Province Forkopimda ranks, as well as IPPAT ranks throughout Banten Province.
