Regional Secretary: Satpol PP Greets the Community with a Persuasive, Humanistic, and Open Approach.

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Tangerang Regency, Soma Atmaja, launched the “Satpol PP Greets the Community” program at the Tangerang Regency Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) office on Monday (August 4, 2025).

In his remarks, Regional Secretary Soma Atmaja stated that “Satpol PP Greets the Community” is not merely a slogan and ceremonial activity.

But rather a paradigm shift that upholds a persuasive, humanistic, and open approach to maintaining public order and public safety.

“I welcome and express my highest appreciation for the launch of this program.

Maintaining order cannot rely solely on force; it requires open, humanistic communication, and synergy with the community.

Satpol PP must be a bridge between the government and citizens,” said Soma.

He further emphasized the importance of instilling a sense of pride in Satpol PP members as the frontline and the last bastion in maintaining order.

The Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) must be firm in enforcing Regional Regulations (Perda), while still prioritizing a persuasive and humane approach.

“The tagline ‘Menyapa Masyarakat’ does not mean that Satpol PP is negotiable. Firmness in enforcing regulations is a form of maintaining the government’s authority.

If we are weak, the very fabric of government can be destroyed,” he stressed.

Soma also instructed Satpol PP to immediately regulate unruly street vendors around Tigaraksa Square and to prepare a reorganization plan by coordinating across regional government agencies.

He also requested that standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling demonstrations be strengthened to maintain the dignity of the regional government.

“Demonstrations are part of democracy, but that doesn’t mean we allow them to act arbitrarily. This is our home, and the people’s home must also be protected,” he added.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Tangerang Regency Satpol PP, Ana Supriyatna, stated that this program upholds three main principles summarized in the acronym “MENYAPA”: serving and protecting, comfortable and real, and compliant and safe.

“This program demonstrates the Satpol PP’s concrete contribution to supporting the vision of a vibrant, competitive, orderly, and comfortable Tangerang Regency for all residents,” Ana explained.

She also expressed her appreciation for the full support of the Regional Secretary and all elements of the regional government and requested their support and guidance to further foster the Satpol PP’s motivation and professionalism in carrying out their duties.

“This program is a strategic step in bringing Satpol PP closer to the community through a more humanistic, educational, and dialogical approach,” she concluded.
