Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 62 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Implementation of Agrarian Reform has a breakthrough for the Settlement of Land Tenure in Forest Areas (PPTPKH).

This is one of the obstacles in implementing the Agrarian Reform program run by the government, especially the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).

“Currently we have a ‘joint survey’ mechanism for cross-sector agencies, between the Ministry of ATR/BPN and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK).

“The two ministries went to the field to carry out a joint verification and validation process,” said the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) at the 2024 Agrarian Reform Summit which took place in Denpasar, Bali on Saturday (15/06/2024).

The results of the joint survey agreement between these two agencies will be the basis for the Ministry of ATR/BPN to certify community land whose territory has been removed from forest areas. With this mechanism.

It is hoped that no more officers will be exposed to legal problems because they are deemed to have caused state losses.

“Let’s increase close coordination and communication between each ministry,” said Minister AHY.

Minister AHY also revealed that protection for government officials involved in handling agrarian disputes and conflicts will become clearer and stronger with the issuance of Presidential Decree Number 62 of 2023.

“Hopefully, through the 2024 Agrarian Reform Summit, we can also prevent violations of the law and also prevent anyone from becoming a victim just because of overlapping regulations and a weak legal umbrella,” he explained.

The Minister of ATR/Head of BPN invited the central and regional governments to continue to improve coordination and communication.

“We also need to continuously encourage the acceleration of the implementation of the One Map Policy.

“We can immediately realize this as a reference for all stakeholders in various Agrarian Reform and spatial planning matters,” he stressed in front of 700 participants at the 2024 Agrarian Reform Summit who came from various parts of Indonesia.

For your information, the 2024 Agrarian Reform Summit is a follow-up to the 2023 Karimun Agrarian Reform Task Force (GTRA) Summit as a forum for integration.
