TANGERANG, POSINTERNASIONAL.COM.
Tangerang Deputy Regent Intan Nurul Hikmah directly reviewed the implementation of the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) and the Cheap UMKM Bazaar ahead of Eid al-Adha 1446 H at Tigaraksa Square, Tuesday (3/6/25).
The collaboration program across Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) aims to ease the community in meeting basic needs ahead of Eid al-Adha, as well as support inflation control in Tangerang Regency.
On that occasion, Deputy Regent Intan expressed her appreciation for the implementation of the activity which was considered very beneficial for residents.
“This basic food subsidy program is expected to help the community in meeting their needs ahead of Eid al-Adha. Hopefully this cheap basic food subsidy program can be implemented again in the future,” she said.
This GPM activity provides 1,000 subsidized commodity packages consisting of 2 kg of granulated sugar, 2 liters of cooking oil, and 2 kg of wheat flour, with a selling price of IDR 54,000 per package, far below the market price.
“The basic necessities can be redeemed for IDR 54,000 from the capital expenditure of around IDR 90,000. So, the local government provides a subsidy for the community of around IDR 43,000 so that they can penetrate the commodities they need at a more affordable price,” he explained.
He emphasized that the Local Government is also committed to fully supporting programs aimed at maintaining the stability of staple food prices in Tangerang Regency.
Meanwhile, the enthusiasm of the community has been high since the morning. One of the residents who attended the GPM activity, Yati, a resident of Ciatuy, said that she was greatly helped by the cheap basic food subsidy program.
“Alhamdulillah, I feel very helped by this program. Hopefully in the future activities like this can be carried out again,” she concluded.
