The Tangerang Regency Government has officially launched a free school transportation trial program for students in the Tangerang Regency area.
The program launch event was carried out directly by the Tangerang Regent, Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, together with the Tangerang Deputy Regent, Intan Nurul Hikmah in the Bizpoint area, Cikupa District. Tuesday, (10/6/25).
In his remarks, Regent Maesyal Rasyid emphasized that this program is a form of commitment from the Tangerang Regency Government in improving public services, especially in the field of education.
This program is the result of cooperation between the local government and Perum Damri, as well as a grant of one vehicle unit from the Ministry of Transportation.
“Today we are starting a pick-up and drop-off service for students so that they can go to school safely and on time.
This is part of our steps to provide more inclusive education, including by gradually eliminating education costs for private elementary and junior high school students,” said the Regent.
He hopes that the transportation program This free school can also reduce the number of traffic accidents among students, reduce congestion due to the use of private vehicles, and be part of efforts to eradicate extreme poverty and control regional inflation.
“We ask for the participation of parents and the community to maintain and utilize this facility properly.
Socialization will also continue to be carried out so that children know the gathering points and vehicle routes,” he said.
He continued, the Tangerang Regency Government has allocated a budget of IDR 40 billion for 2025, and will continue to be increased in the following years for the free school program for private elementary and junior high schools.
He hopes that in less than five years, all private elementary and junior high school students in Tangerang Regency can enjoy free education as a whole.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Tangerang Regency Transportation Agency, Ahmad Taufik, in his report stated that this program will start operating in June to December 2025 for zone 1 of the Tigaraksa area, with three Damri medium buses and one HiAce unit granted by the Ministry of Transportation.
The operating hours for this school transportation include: morning, 05.00 – 07.30 WIB, noon: 12.00 – 15.00 WIB and evening: 16.00 – 18.00 WIB
“The main routes that are passed include for departure: BizPoint Cikupa -Jl. Pemda Tigaraksa -JI. KH. Syekh Nawawi -Jl. Taman Adiyasa -Jl. Syekh Mubarok – Jl. Aria Jaya Santika – SDN Negeri Seglog. And for arrival: SDN Negeri Seglog-Jl. Aria Jaya Santika – Jl. Syekh Mubarok – JI. KH. Syekh Nawawi – Jl. Pemda Tigaraksa – U-turn Post Pantau Dishub Tigaraksa – Bizpoint Cikupa,” explained Taufik
According to him, this Free School Transportation Program is a real manifestation of the Tangerang Regency Government in providing services that have a direct impact on the community.
“Hopefully, this free school transportation program can also create a more empowered and educated next generation,” he concluded.
