Tangerang Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid accompanied by H. Iwan Fitmansyah, ST, M. Si, reviewed the location affected by flooding in the Jakarta Bay area, Kutabumi Village, Pasar Kemis District, Tangerang Regency, Sunday (6/7/25).
This review was conducted to find out directly the cause of the flooding that has disturbed local residents.
During his visit, the Regent was accompanied by the Head of the Tangerang Regency Public Works and Water Resources Agency, H. Iwan Firmansyah.E. ST, M.Si and Members of the Tangerang Regency DPRD.
They explored the area around the Puri Teluk Jakarta Housing to see the condition of the water channels that are suspected of causing the flooding.
“Today I saw firsthand the river that caused the flooding around the Puri Teluk Jakarta, Kutabumi, Pasar Kemis areas.
I was accompanied by Mr. Iwan, Head of the Bina Marga Office and also a member of the DPRD,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.
According to him, from the results of the review and information obtained from the RT, RW, and local residents, the flood is strongly suspected to have been caused by the narrowing of the culvert or water channel leading to the Cirarab River.
As a result, when heavy rain falls, the water overflows and inundates residents’ settlements.

The Regent then ordered the Pasar Kemis Sub-district Head to immediately summon the relevant housing developers, to ask for an explanation in a coordination meeting to be held next Monday.
“I have asked the Sub-district Head to summon the developer to attend the meeting on Monday.
We will discuss the causes and solutions to this flood so that people in the Jakarta Bay area will no longer experience flooding in the future,” he said.
Furthermore, the Regent emphasized the importance of integrated water channel management so that there is no blockage or narrowing that causes water to overflow from the tributary to the settlement.
“Tomorrow we will summon the developer to explain why the narrowing of the water channel or culvert could cause overflow from the tributary to the Cirarab River and finally cause flooding,” he concluded.
