The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Banten Province will hold a free Organizational and Journalism Orientation (OKK) in 2025, Saturday (15/02).

The OKK, which is centered in the capital city of Banten Province, will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. This OKK is open to active journalists who want to join PWI.

The Head of PWI Banten, Mashudi, said that OKK is a routine PWI activity attended by prospective members and members who will increase their membership status from young to regular.

“For PWI members, OKK is more familiar with the Journalist Training Program (KLW). This year’s OKK implementation is centered in Serang City,” said Mashudi, Friday (14/2/2025).

According to the Director of Radar Banten, OKK participants will receive various materials related to PWI organization, starting from history, work programs, PD PRT, Journalistic Code of Ethics, and Press Law.

“Finally, there will be an essay test for all participants and those who pass OKK will become PWI members,” he said.

Mashudi hopes that both new members and regular members will understand PWI more deeply as an organization and always adhere to the journalistic code of ethics in every activity and in creating their journalistic products.

“Every journalist who becomes a member of PWI is required to adhere to the journalistic code of ethics and the press law,” concluded Mashudi.

The OKK requirements are as follows:

– Fill out the form provided by the committee

– Photocopy of the press company ID card

– Photocopy of KTP

– Photocopy of the latest diploma

– 3×4 photos, 3 (three) sheets

– Statement from the Editor-in-Chief

– Statement of willingness to become a member of PWI

– Statement of not being actively involved in a political party or working in a government or private agency.

-Statement of never having joined another professional journalism organization

-Recommendation from the Head of PWI Regency/City for those domiciled outside the provincial capital

-Include at least 3 (three) recent written works published in the media where you work.

Participant Rules for Journalism and Organizational Orientation (OKK)

– Wearing material/cloth/cotton pants, not allowed to wear jeans or similar pants

– Must wear a white shirt

– Must wear black loafers

– Arrive on time. Tolerance for lateness is 10 minutes. If it exceeds, then it is declared that you have withdrawn as a participant

– Must enter the room on time according to the specified schedule

– It is prohibited to leave the room during the event. For participants who want to go to the toilet, they must get permission from the resource person or committee in the room

– Must fill in the attendance list for each session according to the specified schedule

– Not allowed to use a mobile phone (HP) during the activity.
Must do the tasks given by the resource person

– Behave well, politely, and orderly during the activity. Not allowed to make noise, talk to other participants, during the activity

– Not allowed to wander around during the event. Stay in your seat, until the event is over.
