Therefore, she requested that SPPG officers carry out their duties properly and assume full responsibility before delivering and distributing food to children.

TANGERANG, POSINTERNASIONAL.COM.

Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid and Deputy Regent Intan Nurul Hikmah have requested that the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and its partners be more responsive and act quickly.

Follow up on and address public reports regarding the composition and condition of food in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

This was stated by the Regent and Deputy Regent of Tangerang while attending an evaluation and coordination meeting with BGN for the MBG Program at the Tangerang Regent’s Hall on February 26, 2026.

“We ask that BGN and all its partners, including the Food Service Providers (SPPG) and other relevant parties, be more responsive and act quickly to follow up on public reports.

Regarding the composition and condition of food in the MBG program,” emphasized Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

According to him, the Free Nutritious Meals program is a major investment for the nation.

To break the chain of nutritional problems that remain a challenge for us all, the MBG program is not just about distributing food.

But ensuring the quality of the nation’s next generation is truly maintained and their nutritional needs are met.

“So the food provided must be fresh, clean, free from bacteria, and so on, so that it can be consumed properly and will certainly contribute to the nutrition of our children,” he emphasized.

He continued, the presence of SPPGs as the frontline is crucial to the success of the MBG program.

The local government is fully committed to helping facilitate the issuance of the Hygiene Sanitation Certificate (SLHS), which is one of the SPPG’s responsibilities.

“Around 170 SPPGs have implemented the free nutritious meal program in Tangerang Regency.

Regarding the permit process for the Hygiene and Sanitation Certificate, the Health Office is ready to assist with recommendations, and the documents will be issued by the DPMPTSP,” he added.

He also requested the establishment of a forum or coordinator for SPPGs in Tangerang Regency to facilitate communication and coordination regarding issues arising in the implementation of the MBG program in Tangerang Regency.

“We want a coordinator for SPPGs in Tangerang Regency. We need to know who the coordinator is, and who is responsible, so we can communicate,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Regent Intan highlighted reports from the public complaining about the food or nutritional composition from SPPG kitchens.

Therefore, she requested that SPPG officers carry out their duties properly and assume full responsibility before delivering and distributing food to children.

“Indeed, each SPPG kitchen has a nutritionist assigned to be on standby.

They just need to double-check whether the dry food provided to our children is appropriate, in terms of type, condition, and nutritional composition.

There should be no moldy food,” said Deputy Regent Intan.

She also asked SPPGs to pay attention to the nutritional composition and the taste and variety of the menu to avoid boredom.

“Things like this are probably my concern. Furthermore, free nutritious meals must be accompanied by delicious flavors, at least ones that children can accept,” she emphasized.

Iwan Dwi Susanto, Secretary of the Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision of the National Agency for National Education (BGN), said that MBG is an excellent and noble program.

BGN has asked all its partners to prepare food that is affordable and nutritious.

“We at BGN never even think about providing poor-quality food.

So, we’re not just feeding, we’re not just filling the children’s bellies, but we’re also creating a multiplier effect,” explained Iwan.
