Tangerang Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid laid the first stone for the construction of a fishermen’s settlement in Tanjung Kait Village, Tanjung Anom Village, Mauk District, Wednesday (5/3/2025).

The construction of the fishermen’s settlement in Tanjung Anom consists of 110 houses designed with decent housing facilities for fishermen.

The big challenge for this fishermen’s settlement is access to basic facilities such as clean water, sanitation, and safe housing.

In his remarks, Regent Maesyal said that this program is a commitment of the local government to improve the welfare of the community, especially fishermen who play an important role in food security and the economy of Tangerang Regency.

The construction of the settlement is in line with the vision and mission of Tangerang Regency which wants to create a harmonious and sustainable environment, and support local economic growth.

“The Tangerang Regency Government continues to be committed to improving the welfare of the community, including fishermen.

It is hoped that this can increase access to better public facilities and have a positive impact on improving the standard of living of the fishing community,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

The development is a revitalization program for Kampung Tanjung Kait.

In addition, this program aims to strengthen the local economy by opening up opportunities for the development of related sectors, such as tourism and fisheries.

“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the heads of departments, Habitat, Sub-district Head, Dansat Radar, Kapolsek.

Danramil, village heads and all parties who have contributed to this project, including the local community, and other related parties,” he said.

Regent Maesyal said that the development of this settlement is not only about physical infrastructure, but also reflects the spirit of mutual cooperation and social concern that are the basis of many local government programs.

Furthermore, he hopes that the initiative to develop this fishermen’s settlement can be an example for similar development programs that aim to improve the quality of life of the community.

“Hopefully this can be an example for other programs that aim to improve the quality of life of the community in Tangerang Regency,” he said.

He hopes that the construction of the Tanjung Anom fishermen’s settlement will run smoothly and be completed on time, providing long-term benefits for the fishing community, and making Tangerang Regency an example of a region that is able to develop its regional potential by paying attention to the welfare of its people.

“By saying, Bismillahirohmanirohim, I officially declare the laying of the first stone for the Tanjung Anom fishermen’s settlement in Mauk District,” he concluded.

On the same occasion, a representative from Habitat for Humanity Indonesia, Arwin Sulaksono, said that the housing construction project for 110 fishing families in the Tanjung Anom area aims to provide access to habitable housing for residents who have been living in inadequate conditions.

He said that the house that was built has a simple but functional design, consisting of one living room, two bedrooms, and one bathroom.

In addition, the house is also equipped with a kitchen and terrace, with the aim of ensuring the house’s resistance to various potential disasters, including earthquakes and extreme weather.

“The construction process of this house is expected to be completed within the next six months. We have started with the laying of the first stone and land clearing,” he said.

Residents who have the ability to build independently will be encouraged to do so, while those who are less able will be given training.

Training is not only given to homeowners, but also to local craftsmen, so that they can build houses properly and according to applicable standards.

This aims to avoid careless construction that is vulnerable to damage or disaster.

The hope for the community after receiving the house is that they will care for and maintain their residence, as well as additional space for families in need, if there is still empty land.

“We hope that the community can work together with the local government to strengthen cooperatives and improve their welfare.

In this way, their lives will be better and the houses they own can be cared for and developed more easily,” he said.
