“I, accompanied by Assistant II and the Head of the Industry and Trade Office, personally inspected Kelapa Dua Market to assess the availability and prices of food and other staple goods,
and other basic necessities ahead of Eid al-Fitr,” said Deputy Regent Intan.
During her visit, she found significant price increases for beef, shallots, garlic, and cooking oil, which are in limited supply.
“Currently, we’ve found a significant increase in beef, as well as the prices of shallots, garlic, and cayenne peppers.
Oil is also a bit difficult to find,” he explained.
He continued, explaining that monitoring the availability and prices of basic commodities will continue, especially as Eid approaches.
Furthermore, joint inspections with the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) will be intensified to ensure that the public can obtain the supplies they need for Eid that are safe and suitable for consumption.
“We will continue to monitor the stock and availability of food and basic commodities.
Together with BPOM, we will also conduct food safety tests ahead of Eid so that the public can obtain what they need safely and safely,” he added.
According to him, the findings in the field will be further discussed with all regional government agencies (OPD) and other relevant agencies.
This will be done to formulate and determine preventive measures to maintain price stability and the availability of basic commodities in the market.
“We will certainly discuss these findings further with the relevant agencies and other institutions.
God willing, the Tangerang Regency Government will try to subsidize cooking oil and launch a Cheap Food Movement ahead of Eid al-Fitr,” he concluded.
Regarding the significant increase in beef prices, he hopes the central government will also be proactive in taking effective steps to curb the increase in beef prices in the market.
This will help the public prepare for Eid al-Fitr.
“We hope the central government will also take proactive steps to curb the increase in beef prices.
Hopefully, there will be a regulation from the central government so that the price of beef does not exceed IDR 160,000 per kilogram,” he said.
