TANGERANG, POSINTERNASIONAL.COM.

Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid inspected the landslide site along the Cidurian River in Salapajang Hamlet, Carenang Village, Cisoka District, on Thursday (January 8, 2026).

During the inspection, Regent Maesyal Rasyid was accompanied by Iwan Firmansyah, Head of the Tangerang Regency Public Works and Water Resources Agency.

He was accompanied by other agency officials, the Cisoka Sub-district Head, the Cisoka Police Chief, the local village head, and other relevant officials.

The inspection was conducted to directly assess the condition of the land along the riverbank, which is at risk of landslides and potentially endangering the safety of residents.

Tangerang Regent Maesyal Rasyid revealed that six houses are at risk due to unstable land contours along the Cidurian River.

This was due to the recent heavy rainfall.

“During this rainy season, along with the Head of the Public Works Agency, the Sub-district Head, and the Police Chief, I visited Salapajang Hamlet, Carenang Village, specifically the area directly adjacent to the Cidurian River.

Six houses are at risk due to the unstable soil conditions along the riverbank,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

He emphasized that the safety of residents is currently the top priority, given the potential for the Cidurian River’s water level to rise at any time and its strong currents could erode the surrounding land.

“It’s no longer possible for people to live here because the rain continues, and there’s concern that the Cidurian River’s water level will rise at any time and erode the land where six families live.

We must immediately find the best solution,” he stressed.

He added that the Tangerang Regency Government, through relevant agencies, will immediately coordinate across sectors with the Cidanau-Cidurian-Cisadane (C3) Center.

Security personnel and the local government are working to expedite the response and ensure the safety of the community living along the Cidurian Riverbank.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tangerang Regency Public Works and Water Resources Agency, Iwan Firmansyah, explained that technical management of the Cidurian River area falls under the authority of the Cidanau–Cidurian–Cisadane (C3) River Basin Agency (BBWS) of the Ministry of Public Works.

“Technical management of the Cidurian River falls under the authority of the C3 Agency. We, the Tangerang Regency Public Works and Water Resources Agency, are in constant coordination and have already submitted a letter to the Agency some time ago.

We are currently awaiting the technical steps the Agency will take,” Iwan explained.

He added that while awaiting follow-up from the Agency, the Tangerang Regency Government, along with sub-districts and villages, continues to monitor field conditions and prepare anticipatory measures.

“One option being considered is the possibility of relocating affected residents in the most vulnerable zones.

Of course, this will take into account safety and land readiness,” he added.
