Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid conveyed the urgency of accelerating the certification of waqf land.

According to him, certification is needed to protect and provide legal certainty for waqf land, prevent disputes and conflicts over waqf land, and maximize the use of waqf land for the benefit of the community.

“Indeed (certification of waqf land, ed.) is recommended, so if there are Islamic boarding schools that do not yet have certificates, they can be registered immediately so that there is no conflict,” said Nusron Wahid after witnessing the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between 25

Land Offices (Kantah) of Districts/Cities throughout West Java with the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Management (PCNU) in the related areas, which took place at the West Java PWNU Office, Bandung, Thursday (05/12/2024).

The Minister of ATR/Head of BPN revealed that in the last seven years, asset legalization has been accelerated through the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program.

The registered land includes community land, including Customary Law Communities, institutional land, BUMN/D/corporation land, and waqf land including houses of worship. “Now it is approaching 120 million registered land plots, we will continue this,” he said.

On the same occasion, the Head of PWNU West Java, Juhadi Muhamad stated that this collaboration is a sign of increasingly strong synergy between the government and NU.

He hopes that by strengthening synergy, problems related to NU assets can be resolved which are still homework (PR) in West Java.

“Hopefully this collaboration in the future can be maximized so that what is homework can be completed. This depends on how we maximize performance in each of NU and Kantah,” said Juhadi Muhamad.

For information, the collaboration carried out this time includes accelerating land services and certification of waqf land owned by NU associations.

The signing of the PKS was represented by four Heads of Kantah, namely the Heads of Kantah Bogor I and II Districts, Cirebon District, and Bandung District with their respective Heads of PCNU.
