Lawyer OC Kaligis presented witness Lesly to lighten the sentence against Ahmad Fauzi who was charged with corruption by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor at the Central Jakarta District Court.

In the trial with the agenda of listening to witness statements, Monday, Lesly was the wife of Ahmad Fauzi, former Head of the KPK Detention Center (Rutan).

Ahmad Fauzi along with 14 other members of the KPK Detention Center were charged with corruption by asking for money from prisoners so that finally a code of ethics trial and trial were held at the Central Jakarta District Court.

Lesly said that her husband did have three bank accounts, namely Bank Mandiri, Bank BSI and Bank BRI.

“The money that went into my husband’s account was only an honorarium from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights through Bank BRI and Bank BSI, a salary from the KPK and savings were never blocked,” said the mother of three.

Lesly added that her husband worked as the Head of the KPK Detention Center for only 11 months and only received reasonable money as a state civil servant (ASN) and only had one simple house.

Answering questions from the lawyer of Prof. OC Kaligis’ office to Lesly that one unit of minibus purchased on credit including one unit of motorbike type bebek was finally returned because he could not pay in May 2024.

According to her since her husband was detained, she has become the backbone of the family, to support three children assisted by family and relatives.

She said that her child excelled at school representing Indonesia in the Mathematics Olympiad and often cried and locked himself up because recently he had never met his father again.

“My husband never received money from other parties, only salary and honorarium and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, nothing more,” she said.
