The Tangerang Regency Government through the Tilawatil Qur’an Development Institute (LPTQ) inaugurated 149 Judges and 21 LPTQ Administrators for the 55th Regency-level Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ). The inauguration took place solemnly in the Al-Amjad Mosque Hall, Tuesday (7/1/2025).
In his remarks, the Acting (Pj) Regent of Tangerang, Andi Ony, emphasized the importance of the role of the Judges in maintaining the quality and credibility of the MTQ implementation.
“Let us together make this MTQ an event to echo the Qur’an which is not only good at reading, but also able to practice the noble values of the Qur’an in life,” he said.
At that moment, he emphasized that the technical guidance and orientation activities held could increase the insight and knowledge of the Panel of Judges according to existing rules.
“With broad insight, it is hoped that the Panel of Judges will be able to understand and apply the MTQ assessment standards properly and correctly, and align perceptions about the MTQ assessment method.
This is important to maintain objectivity in the assessment so that it can produce the best quality participants, both in terms of understanding, appreciation, and practice of the contents of the Qur’an,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Tangerang Regency, Soma Atmaja, said that this inauguration was part of an effort to make the MTQ not only a competition event, but also a means of spreading Islam and strengthening Qur’anic values in people’s lives.
“A strict selection process has been carried out to ensure that the Panel of Judges have the competence, integrity, and ability to objectively assess participants,” he said.
The inauguration process began with the reading of the holy verses of the Qur’an and continued with the taking of the oath and promise of the Panel of Judges led directly by the Acting Regent of Tangerang.
The 55th MTQ of Tangerang Regency Level is scheduled to take place on January 14-19, 2025 in Kronjo District. This activity is expected to produce a generation of Qur’anic who are not only proficient in reading the Qur’an, but also understand and practice its contents.
