The plea hearing, or defense memorandum, for document forgery defendant Charlie Chandra and his legal team has been postponed.
The postponement request was submitted in open court at the Tangerang District Court (PN) Class 1A on Friday (August 8, 2025).
The defendant’s legal counsel told the panel of judges that they were not yet ready to read their plea.
The panel of judges granted the request and determined that the defense counsel’s plea reading will continue at the next hearing.
“The hearing is postponed to give the defendant’s legal counsel the opportunity to prepare their defense memorandum,” said the Chief Judge during the hearing.
“If it’s not ready, it can be read next week. However, the Panel of Judges is confident that the legal counsel is capable of preparing it,” added the Chief Judge.
The trial will resume on Tuesday (August 12, 2025) for the defense attorney’s plea.
The trial will then resume with a written response from the public prosecutor on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. A written response from defendant Charlie Candra will be heard on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
