Tangerang Regent, Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, emphasized the commitment of the Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab) in eradicating the illicit trafficking of narcotics.

He considered that breaking the chain of drug trafficking is a strategic step to save the future of the nation.

According to Regent Maesyal, drug abuse not only damages the health and future of the younger generation, but also poses a serious threat to family, social, and national security resilience.

“The war on drugs is an important part of efforts to realize the vision of Tangerang Regency development, namely ‘Realizing a Prosperous and Competitive Tangerang Regency Society’,” he said at the International Anti-Narcotics Day Commemoration at the Raden Aria Yudhanegara Field, Tangerang Regency Government Center, Thursday (26/6/2025).

He also emphasized that a prosperous society cannot be built on a foundation that is fragile due to drugs.

Likewise, competitiveness will not grow from a generation that is trapped in dependency and despair.

“Only with a healthy, strong, and drug-free generation can we move steadily towards the Golden Generation of Indonesia 2045,” he added.

His party also emphasized the importance of a preventive and rehabilitation approach.

Prevention, according to him, is the main fortress in protecting the younger generation from the trap of drugs, while rehabilitation is a bridge to recovery.

So that those who have been exposed can return to being productive individuals in society.

“This commemoration is an important momentum to strengthen commitment and synergy in combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

This step is not only carried out through legal action, but also with a massive preventive approach and comprehensive rehabilitation,” he explained.

By carrying the theme “Breaking the Chain of Illicit Drug Distribution through Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Eradication Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”, Regent Maesyal also invited all elements of society to take part in breaking the chain of drug distribution.

“I invite all elements of society, government, law enforcement, education, religious institutions, community leaders, media, and family environments.

To unite to build awareness and joint strength against drugs, from the village to district levels,” he said.

On the same occasion, the Regent also expressed his appreciation to all levels of the Tangerang Regency Narcotics Agency for their dedication and hard work in the Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Illicit Distribution of Narcotics (P4GN).

The Tangerang Regency Government, he continued, will continue to support strategic steps and educational programs that involve various elements of society.

This includes the provision of inclusive rehabilitation services and empowerment of communities and youth as agents of change.
