The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is increasingly serious about handling land disputes and conflicts in Indonesia, especially those caused by the land mafia.
This was confirmed by the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN. Nusron Wahid after meeting with the Attorney General, Sanitiar Burhanuddin at the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta on Thursday (31/10/2024).
“We pay tribute to the very brave Attorney General, who has a very noble reputation and integration. We coordinate, develop strategic steps to eradicate the land mafia.
“Once again, zero tolerance for the land mafia so that there is fair land distribution and reflects equality for the Indonesian nation towards a prosperous Indonesia,” said Minister Nusron after the meeting.
The eradication of the land mafia will be carried out by strengthening collaboration with the Police, Prosecutor’s Office and local government.
And in the future it will involve the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Minister Nusron also expressed this in the Working Meeting of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Wednesday (30/10/2024).
“We cannot tolerate the land mafia. We will hold a special coordination meeting with the Attorney General’s Office, Police and PPATK.
We will initiate a process of impoverishing the land mafia. We are not only satisfied that the land mafia is subject to general criminal offenses.
If it were a crime that purely involved state administration officials, the offense would definitely be a criminal act of corruption.
“But, if it can be balanced with the crime of money laundering, it will have a deterrent effect,” said Nusron Wahid. Minister Nusron is determined to eradicate the land mafia and save people’s land rights.
