The Minister of Agriculture and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, confirmed the government’s commitment to speed up the certification of all places of worship in Papua, Thursday (20/11).
This was delivered when handing over 10 certificates for houses of worship both churches and mosques in Papua.
The handover took place at GKI Kasih Dok Church IX Jayapura, Papua Province, Wednesday (19/11/2025).
“We are determined that during the leadership of Mr. President Prabowo, all places of worship, mosques, churches, viharas, will be certified, regardless of color.
Therefore, Reverend, we ask you to help us shoulder to shoulder within 1 year, a maximum of 2 years, Mr. Roy (Head of Regional Office of BPN Papua Province, red).
All places of worship in Papua must be certified. There should be no exceptions,” said Minister Nusron in his speech.
Minister Nusron emphasized that land has a very fundamental value for community life.
In that case, the state must ensure that the place of worship as a spiritual and social space of the people has certainty and strong legal protection.
“The place of worship is the house of God. When the house itself is taken care of, the certificate is so that it is safe from the mobbing of the mafia and other people, the house of God is not taken care of,” said the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN.
Minister Nusron appreciated the support of religious leaders and regional governments who continue to maintain harmony in Papua.
He hopes that the acceleration of the certification of places of worship can provide a sense of security to the people and strengthen the quality of land services in the region.
